The first month of quarantine, we hoarded beans.
The second month, we baked bread.
The third month, we put ourselves on a waiting list for a hypoallergenic (Siberian) kitten.
Meet Bella, our Covid-19 quarantine therapy pet.
Other names for Bella: Bells, Belly, Belle Belle, Baby Bell, Michelle Ma Belle, Belly Boo, Bell Biv Devoe and Bellissima. This kid likes to call her “Person” because, irony I guess? Let’s go with it.
They’ve totally bonded. Sometimes Bella sits by her feet while she does Zoom school or homework and it’s the sweetest.
As for our almost 6-year-old…she’s working on her cat skills.
Hang in there, baby!
When it gets to be too much, Bella knows where to hide.
Totally camouflaged!
We’re still all getting to know each other. Sometimes she’s extremely chatty.
Other times, it’s still life with Bella.
I’m not sure how we ever survived without her.
LOVE her! Love your sweet, gorgeous girls, too. (Who are not just gorgeous but also SMART and BRAVE and good at SCIENCE, I’m sure.)
We have 2 girls too, and our older one is named Elliot but has always gone by Elly (which used to be “Ellie” until she got an opinion and changed it to “Elly,” as did her little sister Charley… who said it was okay for them to get OPINIONS?!).
Anyway, when Elly was little she had just as many names as your kitten, Bella: Elle, Elly-Belly, Elly-Belly-Boom-Boom (don’t ask), Elly-Belle/Ella-Belle, and so many, many others. Now she rolls her eyes at all that deliciously cute stuff, sadly (she’s 12 going on 21). But it’s my Charley-Pie who really loves going wild with the names… She takes it to a whole new level. Some people are just like that (me & Char) and some people are soooo NOT (Elly and my wife). Charley-Bella often calls me Papa Pea (I have no memory of how this happened… I’m her femmy MOM) or just “Papa” for short, which is bizarre. It’s a real head-turner in public, that’s for sure.
Three cheers for adding pets to the mix! They make a mess, they have too many NEEDS, but they’re still 100% worth it! 8^)
PS
Would you like to add our lovely dog Cody-Pie to your brood…? I’m changing my mind on the “100% worth it” thing after he just buried (yet another) bone in my houseplant. He’s a hoarder.
This is why I miss blogging – my long lost internet friends! So good to hear from you. What is it with the plants? Your dog is burying bones and mine is using ours to sunbathe I guess? I am buying those big shiny rocks from the garden store as a deterrent. Glad your family is well!
