I have a love/hate relationship with my phone. Sure, it’s the height of convenience to have one device that does it all. But it’s also kind of annoying. I pride myself on being punctual(ish), and sometimes I just want to know what time it is without falling down the rabbit hole of text notifications, social media and endless scrolling.

Plus, there are some other very good reasons to wear a watch, even in 2019:

  1. It’s a fabulous accessory, fun to layer with rings and bracelets.
  2. It says, “I tried,” even on days when the best you can do is sweats and a ponytail.
  3. It’s a conversation starter. That conversation might be, “Excuse me, what time is it?” but you can take it from there.
  4. Your watch doesn’t need to get charged every night.
  5. It’s classic, and unlike your already-obsolete iPhone, it’s a potential heirloom piece for your kids and grandkids. What a cool thing to pass down at graduation, no?

Recently, I received a gorgeous new watch from Jord (pronounced: Yode). As many of you know, I barely ever promote brands on my blog – just a few that I really like and use. And I couldn’t resist this stunning timepiece:

I chose the Kosso Conway & Midnight Blue watch. What blows my mind is that it’s made of wood! Stylish and earthy, natural yet glam–I can’t tell you how many compliments I’ve gotten.

I love how the blue face complements both denim and my go-to nail color.

I actually chose a man’s watch, because I’m drawn to that oversized/unisex look, but they make daintier models too. They’re all beautiful and I love the unique wood construction.

I greedily kept mine for myself, but I dare say this watch would make a great Father’s Day or anniversary gift.

And now the best part–I’ve partnered with Jord on a giveaway. Here’s your chance to win a $100 credit towards your watch of choice. It’s very simple to ENTER THE GIVEAWAY Those not selected will still receive a discount offer, so it’s definitely worth taking a few seconds.

Good luck!
